Description
An ancient Chinese legend (白蛇传) tells the story of a mythical white snake, who takes the form of a woman and falls in love with a human man. Together with her sworn sister, a green snake also in human form, they overcome trials of jealousy, love, and even death, until the white snake emerges victorious and is reunited with her loved one. This elaborate kanzashi piece pays homage to this romantic, ageless tale, with two sparkling mizuhiki snakes framing a large triple-layered navy blue and white kiku (chrysanthemum) blossom. Accompanying it are a delicate pink ume (plum) flower, reflective bira bira flutters, and a metal charm bearing the Chinese word for "passion", all mounted on a large alligator clip for easy wear.
